so, i saw new moon. wasn't as unintentionally lulzy as the first sparkly vampire shitfest, but it still made me laugh loud enough that i pissed off the genuine fans in front of me.
although chris raised a really good point- it's the only thing out that that's really manufactured for girls to be geeks over and that's sad. yes, i like comics, batman, some science fiction, MTS3k, bruce campbell, star trek/wars, etc etc etc, but those are all clearly marketed and made for males, (further leaving me to believe that i'm clearly half a dude) which makes the twilight phenomenon even sadder: we've (although who "we" is unclear) forced a lot of people into this shit. yes, it's HORRIBLY written with an awful subtext for young girls to be following as a romantic template, but it's the only thing they've been given to be dorky over, and they're eating it up like crazy. maybe if some effort were put in to make better quality girl geek materials, we wouldn't be stuck with the current crazies (aka twihards) running around.

i need to update more.
i'll be 22 on thursday. i can't wait to finally have some form of a degree. another one of my bosses got fired, which is good because work means less of a headache.
my hair is currently the shortest it's been since 2007ish. i think i'm starting to like it.
i'm getting an ingrown toenail removed tomorrow and while that is gross and odd, it'll be nice to wear heels again with only the average amount of soreness and not mind boggling pain.
people/bands i've seen since last truly updating: mike birbiglia (he was really nice), margaret cho, and ben folds. i went to two weddings this month. the one on the 17th was a lot more fun than the one on the 3rd.
i had to put my cat down on 9/23 and it was one of the worst things i've ever had to do. ricky was my BABY, and i don't care how much that makes me sound like a crazy cat lady. i'd had him since 1996. we got my first cat, callie in 1995 and while i love her rick was more mine. there are several friends of mine who absolutely despise cats, met him and loved him. he was a total sweetheart, and i don't think i've ever cried that much.
oh, and i got pretty drunk at margaret cho. drunk enough that when my friend decided to smash a lamp in the street, i didn't bother stopping her, laughed because it was funny. while she was heading into her house to grab a broom, i started trying to kick the glass out of the road. out of nowhere, her neighbor comes outside screaming at me. yes, i know we were loud. yes, there is glass in the street. however- it's saturday. in downtown albany. before 11pm. calm the fuck down, asshat. he calls me an asshole a bunch of times while i try to explain that i didn't smash anything, was trying to kick the glass out of the street so people didn't get flat tires, etc. i also apparently called him sir the entire time, which is now hysterical. now, this guy has been screaming at me for a while, has his hands slightly raised, and they're in fists. i told him it'd probably be a good idea to put his hands down and not try to hit a girl, to which he replies "shut the fuck up, you stupid little bitch." my boyfried, who was on speaker the entire time, shouts "HEY!" really loudly (and rightfully so, imo). the guy punched me in the wrist, calls me an asshole and a bitch a few more times and sits and watches us the entire time we clean up the glass. AND REFUSES TO APOLOGIZE FOR HITTING A GIRL. i regret not calling the police to file a complaint, but everyone i was with discouraged me, even though i talked to a friend with a law degree later and i wasn't the wrong one here. i was going to demand an apology out of him, but i couldn't find any large dudes to go with me, as i certainly wasn't going to go alone.
now- after reading this long story, this is the question i have. How long should i wait before slashing his tires? it's been about a month since all of this happened. 2-3 more? 6? or should i do it this weekend as a birthday present to myself?
(i also know the truly mature thing to do would be to do nothing and maybe shoot him dirty looks if i ever see him again, but all maturity flew out the window when a 40something year old man hit a 21 year old girl in the arm and refused to apologize.) |

I've been a lazy LJ-er, I wouldn't be surprised if I've been deleted from a few friend lists.
Summer's been decent, classes just started on Monday and I signed up for an 8am one like a crazy person. I suspect it'll take me about two weeks to get used to waking up at 6:30, so I'm probably going to be an cranky zombie on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays.
There is a girl writing tokio hotel fanfiction next to me. I'm surpressing the lolz.
Anyway, I went on vacation with my mom to cape cod, but the cool part was that I was allowed to bring chris with me, which was great for two reasons 1)vacation with boyfraaannn and 2)Since he lives two hours away, it was really nice to be able to spend 9 days in a row with each other. We didn't hate each other, and of course I miss him already. and while we were there, we saw Mike Birbiglia and got to meet him after the show, I'll probably post the photos (and sign) on ontd tonight.
